Treasure Hunter Test by zsabreuser Treasure Hunter Test by zsabreuser
Toning tests on the first Treasure Hunters page. They would be colored in 4 colors, but since I'm sending it to a black and white anthology I'm sticking to shades of gray for now.

Is the tone too much? might reduce it's size or just erase them!

Hope you dig!

EDIT: Yeah, some lines even got erased with black, so I decided overriding it entirely! (at least for now!)

Thanks miss! Sorry for the late reply only saw it now. Also, yup, thought I'd try to reproduce that with only blacks!

Looks great! Watch out on that 4th panel with the little boy and the dog, it took me a minute to see the dog behind the boy since they both blended in together

Thanks! And true, i guess because of the dark shorts and dark dog, they blended way too much. I', thinking of changing the dog color altogether too, that would make him look better in the last panel too (which is supposed to look darker, but there both his nsoe and skin got i nthe same color because of it)

Really cute!!

I don't think you need to remove the tones altogether. The second panel doesn't need the grey tone in the background, and a white background will pop the character out. What time of day is it in the comic?

Thankes Marleyyyy
Hm, now that you mention, the white bg would be much better since it would give a better contrast with the panel it's above of.
It's supposed to be like a sundown type of time (though next page shifts to a night scene, though that's not set into stone)

Pois é cara, infelizmente tive problemas com vôo e acabei perdendo a aula. Foi da Adriana não foi? Quanto ao Jonah Hex, vou tentar fazer alguma coisa, mas tô meio atolado aqui (ainda bem:D). Sexta feira eu irei, sem falta! Abração!

i think this looks great, honestly but there IS a lot of toning, i dunno. have you seen Cameron Stewart's "Sin Titulo"?

[link]

He only uses Black white and that brown-ish gray tone. what he does is with that gray tome is FANTASTIC for how limited it seems at first. the interesting thing, is that by limiting himself, he also knows exactly what to expect and how to plan out his work. he even does some of the distant background elements in just gray and white, creating a much greater sense of depth. check out some pages if you want.

these pages look great, regardless.

Thanks. Yeah, his style is truly amazing! Hm, it's worth trying doing it in amore simpler way.. though I think i'd need heavier blacks?

very true, he does apply alot more black to his work than you would. whatever route you take, i'm sure it'll end up great.

super cute! i love the puppy. the tones are kind of really dark and distracting, maybe make them lighter at least on the object you want to focus in on??

Thankew! Also. thats a GREAT idea.. I had never thought it that way, and it+s worth a shot! I've taken the halftones out for now, might come back on them after all pages are done!

I think the tones might be a bit too much. They don't typically have a gray shade underneath them (I think) so it looks a little unnecessary.

Thanks. Yeah, specially in the pants, that had actually black halftones. Decided taking it out altogether!
